Enterprise for Research & Advocacy to Stop & Eradicate HIV
Led by Drs. Paiardini, Kulpa, and Silvestri, is one of the Martin Delaney Collaboratories (MDC) for HIV Cure Research, the flagship NIH program on HIV cure research, funded to Emory University.
These leaders and their team members are renowned for their cutting-edge and clinically relevant HIV cure research.

As part of their studies, Paiardini, Kulpa, Silvestri, and their collaborators will define the key features of the immune system needed to control HIV infection and test immune-based therapies with the potential to eliminate or control the virus in the absence of antiretroviral therapy, something that the field has been unable to achieve despite many years of research.
Our common goal is to foster multidisciplinary collaborations and partnerships between academia, industry, government, and community to accelerate the pace of HIV research aimed at developing curative strategies.

We have partnered with an advocacy team who have been leading the fight for HIV education and reproductive justice for over 30 years.

We have assembled a research team of world leaders in T cell biology and HIV pathogenesis who are working at the forefront of HIV cure.

SisterLove
SisterLove, the oldest women’s reproductive health and justice organization in the Southeastern U.S., is committed to eradicating the adverse impacts of HIV and reproductive health rights and justice challenges that impact women and their families.
They do this through a multi-pronged approach: education, prevention, support, research, and human rights advocacy both in the U.S. and globally.

The Reginald & Dionne Smith Foundation
Since its inception on September 13, 2012, the Reginald and Dionne Smith Foundation (RDSF) has been dedicated to eradicating stigma and enhancing HIV awareness, specifically addressing the distinct challenges faced by families across the United States impacted by HIV/AIDS, viral hepatitis, and substance use disorders.
The London Patient
Adam Castillejo, formerly known as the 'London Patient', is the second person in the world to be healed from HIV, and one of our community partners. Adam underwent a stem cell transplant to treat lymphoma and his donor carried a mutation that made him resistant to the virus. Learn more about his incredible story on our Community Partners page.
We aim to deliver community supported therapeutics that disrupt the underlying mechanisms of HIV persistence that will result in sustained viral remission and ultimately eradication of the rebound competent viral reservoir.
Our Milestones

Characterization of pro-latency and cytotoxic CD8 T cell functions for successful post-treatment control and latent reservoir eradication of HIV-1.

Highlights
ERASE HIV Martin Delaney Collaboratory and SisterLove organized an art and science exhibition for World AIDS Day on December 1 st, 2024. Artists and scientists joined the event to discuss HIV cure research.
Meeting artists and community members to discuss our progress and hope for an HIV cure was fantastic. Dr. Deanna Kulpa, ERASE HIV’s PI, presented ERASE HIV’s most recent achievements and goals and explained the importance of working with SisterLove to share knowledge on HIV cure research to the community.
